Times Higher Education shortlists LJMU for University of the Year

LJMU competes for a prestigious higher education award

LJMU’s dedication to academic excellence and outstanding student experience continues to receive national praise.

Times Higher Education has shortlisted LJMU for one of the most prestigious awards in the higher education sector –University of the Year for 2017. Earlier this year LJMU also won University of the Year 2017 at the Educate North Awards, standing out among Russell Group institutions. The news highlights the continued effort staff makes to provide the best for its students.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Nigel Weatherill, explained: “This is down to our work to widen access to university for local young people, as well as enhance our student experience ... which is truly what makes us a pioneering modern civic university.”

Times Higher Education has also shortlisted LJMU for Entrepreneurial University and STEM research projects of the year. Such recognitions emphasise the quality preparation students receive, encouraging innovative thinking to solve problems in the 21st century.

The winner of the University of the Year award will be announced on 30 November.
