International Study Centre

International Year One

Designed to equip you for entry on to the second year of an undergraduate degree

What is the International Year One?

The International Year One is a pathway programme equivalent to the first year of undergraduate study. Upon successful completion of the programme, and achievement of the required grades, you can progress to the second year of your undergraduate degree at LJMU.

Who is this programme for?

The International Year One is perfect if you need some extra support with academic, study and English language skills but want to complete your undergraduate degree in three years.

Our new November intakes

Join us in November and stay on track to progress to your degree at the same time as originally planned.

By taking our November intake you will benefit from five additional weeks of activities before the start of your academic studies at no additional cost.

Key highlights include:

  • Full enrichment programme – daily online enrichment classes
  • Live tutor classes - 15 hours of face-to-face teaching per week.
  • Social activities - daily breakfast club during induction week and a programme of social events and activities to join every day.
  • Practical project skills - exciting 20+ hour project to apply skills in a real-life context, with tutor guidance.

  • All of this is offered face-to-face, allowing you to not only get a head start in applying skills in real-life projects, receiving support at settling in at university and in the UK and making friends by joining a series of social events. You will also be fully prepared to start your academic modules from January.

Due to the nature of the additional activities offered at the beginning of these November intakes, students will be expected to be in country and ready to start their studies face to face at the start of the programme.
