LJMU jumps 16 places up the Times league table

LJMU goes from strength to strength in league rankings

We’re excited to announce that Liverpool John Moores University has climbed 16 places in the latest Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. Adding to this success, the University has been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education University of the Year award.

The University also achieved four top 20 places for individual subjects in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018:

Subject Rank
Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation & Tourism  3
 Building  10
General Engineering  17
 Sports Science   19

The league table features 129 UK universities. LJMU performed best for student experience, using the National Student Survey results, followed by teaching quality.

Other key indicators used in deciding rankings include: research quality; graduate prospects; entrance qualifications of new students; degree results achieved; student-staff ratio; amount spent on services and facilities; and number of students completing their degree.

Speaking of LJMU’s successes, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nigel Weatherill said:

“We aspire to deliver an outstanding student experience, developing confidence, skills and character. We aim to provide an education that expands our students’ horizons while feeding their curiosity, through practical research, cutting-edge technology and global engagement”.
